Meet our Namesakes: Kitt & Gandalf!

Click on their names to read the stories about how they came into our lives. We feel so fortunate that they chose us. They are our inspiration for opening a cat café. We look forward to working with you if you decide to provide a fur-ever home to one of our cats or kittens, and to sharing what we have learned in our journey!

Headshot of Kitt, a black cat with some white hairs around his neck and a tipped left ear.
  • Several years ago, Kitt started hanging around our house and let us pet him. One day, he decided to check out the inside of our house. We checked with our neighbors in case he was their cat and took him to our vet to see if he had a microchip. The vet estimated him to be four years old, and told us he was already neutered. We had him microchipped, and he became part of the family! We took him into our home but allowed him to come and go as he pleased. We even put in a cat door for him. One day he decided he prefers to stay indoors where he can be loved and pampered by our family. He enjoys being brushed and will meow and lead us to the brush every morning. He loves having his ears and chin rubbed, and he will wait until you put a blanket on your lap before lying down for lots of pets. He also greets us at the door when we come home.

Headshot of Gandalf, a gray and black tabby cat with green eyes, and a tuft of white hairs under his chin and at his neck.
  • Noah noticed a very skinny kitty in our yard. Noah called to him, and he ran up to Noah right away. Gandalf was very hungry, so Noah fed him. Again, we checked with our neighbors to see if he was their cat and took him to our vet to see if he had a microchip. We had him neutered and microchipped, and the vet told us he was about one year old. He loves to snuggle and he purrs very loudly. He is very curious. He gets into everything and explores everywhere, including on top of our kitchen cabinets. He frequently chirps and cackles, especially when he sees birds, squirrels, or flies. No wonder he wasn’t doing well outdoors - he likely scared prey away before he could get close to them! He loves following us around the house as we water our many houseplants, often sticking his nose into the pots as we do so. He loves to taste test all unattended glasses of water. He enjoys sitting amongst plants and eating his cat grass daily.
